I have a question regarding the Canon 1Ds Mk II. I have a 5D original and want a better AF performance and also a better high ISO performance. My budget is 1500€, therefore the two cameras that I can afford are the 5D Mk II and the 1Ds Mk II. Now, I know that at this price range I cannot get everything I want.
Voltage is the main problem. 1ds2 is 12-13.2 volts. Li-on is 3.7 so multiples of Li-on required. The problem is Canon is chicken because 3.7 x 3 =11.1 so it is not going to work and 3.7 x 4 = 14.8 which is too much.

This, like the menu structure, is a holdover from the Kodak development of the predecessor D2000 (aka Kodak DCS 520) and D6000 (aka Kodak DCS 560) models.
